Removing plastic bits

So here is the Jimny exterior before I start, all in fairly good condition.

Nice clean bumper

Nice front bumper and A-bar thingy

Door plastics, hmmm I might keep this on to stop water getting into the cab

Remove the rear bumper, few bolts, few plastic clips and disconnect the rear light cluster

Remove the drivers side rear arch and side skirt

Remove the passenger side rear arch and skirt

Remove A-Bar  thingy

Remove front bumper

Remove front arches

So here is how the Jimny looks now with the plastic bits gone. Those outrigger parts on the chassis need to be cut before I mount the winch.

Here is the back arch. The bit sticking out need to be drilled out as it has spot welds and maybe the arch needs to be enlarged, a nice virtual lift

New Jimny

Bought a Suzuki Jimny 1.3 for my next Offroad project. No tax or insurance so towed it home on the trailer. It's very clean (not for long) and everything is working apart from a slight knock on the gearbox when starting so it's possibly a gearbox mount that's gone. It has the typical rust hole in the back where the jack is, this is useful for letting water out!

Brought the Jimny home and parked it in the garden beside the Land Rover. There is about 12" of difference in height at the moment.

Weight Reduction

So last night while painting some wheels I started to take out the rear seats. I ended up removing the seats, carpets, spare wheel mount, brackets and sound proofing. It's a little bit lighter now.
